2024 NFL Mock Draft (final, no trades) @JamFed

4/24/2024 by James Fedewa @jamfed

Although I do predict at least six trades in the first round, this will be my final mock draft without trades.

TeamPlayerNotes
1) Chicago Bears (from Carolina)Caleb Williams, QB, USCPainted fingernails and crying to Momma in the bleachers; this is a new time and new era in football. Yes, Williams is good, but I do not have to like him, even if he is good.
2) Washington CommandersDrake Maye, QB, North CarolinaWe do not draft players based on who they were, we draft them for who they are expected to become. Drake has too much upside to pass on him.
3) New England PatriotsJayden Daniels,  QB, LSUA franchise just isn’t a franchise without a QB.
4) Arizona CardinalsMarvin Harrison,  WR, Ohio StI would suspect that ARI does try to trade this pick, only if thy can stay within the top ten picks
5) Los Angeles ChargersMalik Nabers,  WR, LSUI have tried several trade down scenarios for the Chargers, and I do not see the value of any Right Tackles (vs. Trey Pipkins), or DT & CB combo’s that is better than Malik Nabers alone. Take the blue chip WR and be happy you scored.
6)New York GiantsRome Odunze,  WR, Washington The JJ McCarthy hype is only hype. If the current GM and HC cannot win with the QB’s they currently have, then they are all fired. The do not have extra time to develop (or pay) another QB.
7)Tennessee TitansJoe Alt,  OL, Notre DamePossible “blue-chip” OT, but I did not like how he fell down several times at the NFL Combine.
8) Atlanta FalconsDallas Turner, ER, AlabamaATL should also traded down and still target a pass rusher
9) Chicago BearsLaiatu Latu, ER, UCLAI had Jared Verse going here, but I think the Bears could take a chance on Latu. He’s the top defender, minus the medical red flag and age.
10) New York JetsOlu Fashanu, OL, Penn St Jets could trying to grab pass catchers, but Fashanu is a fantastic LT prospect.
11) Minnesota VikingsJJ McCarthy,  QB, MichiganMIN didn’t have to trade up to get their guy. Yes, JJ looks like a great QB, but so does Penix and Nix. They have options at QB…
12) Denver BroncosMichael Penix,  QB, Washington Denver could trade down and still try to get either Penix or Nix, but they better grab something now, no time to screw around and get cute by acquiring additional draft picks
13) Las Vegas RaidersBo Nix, QB, OregonAs much as I like Gardner Minchew, I do not think he is a long term solution.
14) New Orleans SaintsBrock Bowers, TE, Georgia Saints could draft OL, which they should, but Bowers is the final blue-chip prospect available, so they better take him.
15) Indianapolis ColtsTerrion Arnold, CB, AlabamaI really want to draft a Brian Thomas or Brock Bowers with this spot, but when Anthony Richardson gets hurt again, offensive weapons are not as important as quality DB’s.
16) Seattle SeahawksTroy Fautanu, OL, WashingtonFautanu seems like a standard pick, but I start him at OG, and if Abe Lucas can’t play, then Fautanu is your RT. Lets hope Abe can play. But if Penix is available here, then take Penix!
17) Jacksonville JaguarsBrian Thomas, WR, LSU Can Brian Thomas turn into a WR1? He should, right? He’s an athletic freak show, which should help.
18) Cincinnati BengalsJared Verse, ER, Florida St Did a CIN DE just request a trade?
19)  Los Angeles RamsJC Latham, OL, Alabama Rams will probably try to trade up for a LT, but a good RT falls into their laps.
20) Pittsburgh SteelersQuinyon Mitchell, CB, ToledoLove this guy, should go a lot earlier than this..
21) Miami DolphinsByron Murphy, DL, Texas lose a DT, gain a DT.
22) Philadelphia EaglesCooper DeJean, CB, IowaIs it me, but does DeJean feel like an Eagles type of hype. I can already hear the swag chat from Philly Fans. Great player, and can play multiple positions
23)  Minnesota VikingsJerZhan Newton, DL, Illinois Probably the best defender in the class, but his injury costs him a bit of a slide
24) Dallas CowboysTaliese Fuaga, OL, Oregon St Fuaga slides a bit, but I think he’s a guard, not a RT.
25) Green Bay PackersGraham Barton, OL,  Duke this guy can play multiple positions, perfect for GB o-linemen
26) Tampa Bay BuccaneersNate Wiggins, CB, Clemson faster than fast, and he could still add some weight
27) Arizona CardinalsKool Aid McKinstry, CB, Alabama finding quality D is their priority here.
28) Buffalo BillsAdonai Mitchell, WR, Texas great value for a speed demon
29) Detroit LionsDarius Robinson, DL, Missouri Inside and outside knee cap biter.
30) Baltimore RavensAmarius Mims, OL, Georgia BPA (yet he just doesn’t have a ton of reps/starts. BAL can develop him…
31) San Francisco 49ersTyler Guyton, OL, OklahomaSan Fran can use help on the O-line
32) Kansas City ChiefsJordan Morgan, OT, Arizona Both OT were terrible last season.
